Mucosa test systems to monitor effects on fish
Exogenous effects on estrogen mediated physiological processes in vertebrates are reflected by the biomarker/ endpoint vitellogenin (VTG). We have developed the next generation of Vitellogenin ELISA test systems to measure VTG in blood, tissue homogenates and skin mucosa. The mucosa technology is validated by US EPA for laboratory testing (open paper). The suitability for field monitoring is confirmed by The School of the Environment (open paper) (Trent University, Peterborough, ON, Canada)
